Brady is heartbroken at the loss of Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean and her son, Gideon. Maeve was a great champion of so many important causes, including gun violence prevention. She was fierce and indefatigable, as well as unceasingly kind. She had no pretension and lived her life selflessly in pursuit of the betterment of this world. This is a tremendous loss for our Brady family. Our thoughts are with her husband, David, her children, Toby and Gabriella, her mother, Lt. Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, a beloved former member of the Brady Board, and the entire McKean and Kennedy-Townsend families at this time.

Brady has one powerful mission — to unite all Americans against gun violence. We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
