BRADY TO HONOR STACEY ABRAMS, FORMER GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, ACTORS BRYAN CRANSTON AND MICHAEL DOUGLAS AMONG OTHERS AT LIVE DIGITAL EVENT

Washington, D.C., April 1, 2021 - Brady, one of the oldest gun violence prevention organizations in the country, announced the recipients of the 2021 Action Awards, recognizing and celebrating the contributions of luminaries across numerous fields who have spoken up and taken action, not sides, to bring awareness to our nation’s gun violence epidemic.

Brady President Kris Brown explained:

“Each of this year’s honorees has shown sustained, clear, and dogged commitment to ending gun violence in America. From community activists creating change one block at a time, to political officials fighting for stronger laws, or from entertainers turning the hot glare of the spotlight onto this important issue, to public health leaders working to heal victims and stop this epidemic from occurring, this year’s recipients truly are addressing gun violence in all of its forms. We already know that it will take action from every American to stop gun violence. These leaders remind us that such action need not always be headline-grabbing, but through determined and sustained efforts such as theirs, change is possible.”

We work across Congress, the courts, and our communities with over 90 grassroots chapters, bringing together young and old, red and blue, and every shade of color to find common ground in common sense. In the spirit of our namesakes Jim and Sarah Brady, we have fought for over 45 years to take action, not sides, and we will not stop until this epidemic ends. It’s in our hands.
