Washington D.C., July 28, 2022 — Brady President Kris Brown was in attendance as Washingtonian Magazine honored their 2022 Top 500 Most Influential People in D.C. The annual list compiles influencers in the District who don’t hold elected office, but shape the country through their dedication and hard work.

Brown was among the 500 leaders honored for their subject-matter expertise and ability to get things done in the nation’s capital. She was included as one of 19 civil rights and criminal justice experts who impact U.S. policies, laws, and programs.

Washingtonian Magazine shared:

"Even as the gun issue seemed to lose political urgency last year, Brown—head of this gun-violence-prevention group named for Jim and Sarah Brady—continued to lobby for a law that would make it illegal to sell or transfer any firearm without a background check.”

Brady President Kris Brown shared:

“I’m humbled to be included among so many brilliant minds who are shaping policy in this country. It’s these individuals, the ones behind the scenes, putting in the work, who deserve recognition — as does the Brady team, grassroots advocates, and gun violence survivors who bring such heart to the work of making our communities safer.”
